Quote Me Wednesday

.

Let’s break up the work week.

Lay one of your favorite quotes on me. It could be from a movie, poem, song or even something you wrote.
I’ll start with one I wrote earlier on my Twitter page:
.
“It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone else.” Erma Bombeck

  1. One of my favorite quotes is from the the movie "The Holiday". The sweet old guy is talking to Kate Winslet about her guy problems & makes so much sense that I quote this in my head all the time!"Iris, in the movies, we have leading ladies and we have the best friend. You, I can tell, are a leading lady, but for some reason, you're behaving like the best friend." I really like that quote.

  2. This is one of my favorites. I hope you don't think I'm being preachy…"The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness.”-Margaret Nadauld

  4. "I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you can appreciate when they go right. You believe less so that you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself. Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." ~ Marilyn Monroe

  5. Your quote is so true. The scariest part of the writing process is declaring yourself a writer to yourself and then to the world, stepping off the precipice. Here's mine:"Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens."

  6. One of my favorites is "Those who say it can't be done shouldn't stop those that are already doing it."I don't know where that came from, but it's stuck with me.

  7. "Some people think love is the end of the road, and if you're lucky enough to find it, you stay there. Other people say it just becomes a cliff you drive off, but most people who've been around awhile know it's just a thing that changes day by day, and depending on how much you fight for it, you get it, or you hold on to it, or you lose it, but sometimes it's never even there in the first place."-"Let the Great World Spin: A Novel", Colum Mccann

  8. "If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?"….Not sure I ever left wonderland.

  10. Amen on that quote; I've been surrounded by naysayers most my life who can talk me out of just about anything…a quote I like:Energy Flows Where Attention Goes – like to remind myself of this when I am pondering useless crap.
