The morning came too soon and my alarm was right on on cue.

Eyes closed, I fantasized about calling in sick to work. Other than my borderline neuroses I’m sure you’ve picked up on from previous posts, I feel just fine. It’s just that I am a night person; a Nocturnal Goddess. I do my best writing at night and the mornings come way too early..
.
I hear the second buzz at exactly five after the hour.

Snooze

Three more minutes in bed contemplating my escape route from responsibility, I get up out of bed. I remember how grateful I am for my job and how fortunate I am that I work for a stable company.

The morning ritual begins.

After stepping out of the shower and sneaking a peek at the clock on the nightstand I realize I have no time for hair work or fancy eye liner. I throw my coif in a twisty up-do, and complete my face-in-five, a make-up application routine I’ve mastered over the years: mascara, eye brow/shadow, and lipstick.

I had no idea what I was going to wear until I saw a new cardigan I picked up at Target a couple days ago.
Driving to work this morning I had a thought. I felt new and fancy in my Target cardigan and I bet people would think it was from Banana Republic. No one needs to know I picked this up at the same place I purchased trash bags and Pine Sol. Then again, if anyone asked, I would proudly tell them. I love BR but have no issues with labels. As long as things are well made, I am down.

It’s amazing what little things can do for the soul.

Two hours ago I felt like calling in sick, tired, frumpy and unmotivated. In my new cardigan, I feel like Audrey Hepburn’s younger, much more fuller figured cousin.

So here is where you tell me: Is there anything you wear that makes you feel good? A special dress or for you gentlemen, a tie? I would love to hear your story.
I have a long black cardigan-type sweater that I love because I can wear it dressy or with jeans. But then again, I am happiest with a gray hoodie and tennies. LOL!

I have this pair of boots. They are brown, and they have these straps with buckles that go around my calves. They have a 2 inch "cowboy boot heel" (for lack of a better description) they make me feel downright sexy, every single time I wear them.

Too funny, the Target cardigan that could be Banana Republic. I totally tell the prices and places I buy things because I got a great deal, then afterward, I realized that I didn't need to tell them that I got my shoes for $5!!Glad you feel great in your new cardi! My thing is heels- boots with heels, pumps, wedge sandals, sandals with heels…usually in the 4 inch range… which isnt always practical, but it sure makes me feel good!

Hi My Girl! I have missed you. I'm almost caught up and I thought I'd come by and say hello. For me, it's this red dress. And the funny thing is, I bought this dress about 7 years ago, but it's timeless, just the perfect shade of red, a sleeveless sheath that hits right at my calf. It has a tiny bit of stretch to it, so it hugs my curves in all the right places. And when I slide it on, I feel like that girl who broke hearts and danced till dawn and knew nothing about wrinkles or saggy parts. That red dress, I love it.

I have a gorgeous emerald green top that is low cut and fits me really well. Love it. Love it.I have yet to wear it anywhere. Why? I don't know, but where I wouldn't have hesitated a couple years ago, now I feel like everyone around me will think I'm flaunting my boobage or being slutty or something. WTF? What happened to me? When did I start worrying about that?
