Finish the sentence

.

This is a great exercise in self-realization, and personal growth. It can be as simple, or difficult as you make it. Don’t over think, just write whatever comes to mind.

Let’s enjoy reading your comments and learning about one another, and maybe even a little about ourselves.

  4. Beautiful exercise…

    When I was a kid, I thought
    – everything had always existed (buildings, schools, my house, society as we know it);
    – I was special;
    – I was a boy and my parents were mistaken;
    – if I lick every slice of bacon, I’ll get to eat every single one;
    – everybody loved me, but just often simply forgot about me;
    – witches and monsters and goblins really existed;
    – every country was like Canada, with a duality (we had French and English) and assumed every single person in the world was bilingual like me and often asked my mom about other cultures such as “Mom, what’s Australia’s English side?”
    – there was nothing in the world I couldn’t do if I simply tried hard enough

    but the older I get
    – I realize we’re all in the same boat and nothing is permanent
    – there isn’t enough time in my short life to do everything I want to do
    – the less bacon I want to add to my love handles…

  8. that I needed to be absolutely fucking perfect at everything or the world would end.

    that perfection doesn’t exist… and if it does? I don’t want anything to do with it. I’m much more interesting than that.

  9. When I was a kid, I thought I was worthy only if I was perfect. As I get older, I realize perfection is impossible. The beauty in life is in embracing imperfection. (However, I DID have to go back to the original question to make sure I was answering it “correctly” so I am, as always, a work in progress.)
