When we’re in traffic because of an accident. Having to work on a holiday. Annoying relatives at the dinner table. It goes on and on.
We all have moments when we find ourselves bitching about – well, the things we all bitch about during the holidays.
Perspective is one of those things that come in handy this time of year. Here’s a quote that helps us keep some.
A reminder to shift our thinking is always welcome.
We may be in traffic, but let’s be grateful we’re not in the ambulance. Working on a holiday blows, but imagine not having any income at all. And there’s no arguing the fact that our loved ones who creep under our skin every year at the dinner table are beyond annoying. We fight everything in our power to bite our tongue. But here’s the thing – you HAVE loved ones. You ARE having a meal. All we have to do is turn on the news to remember that so many people don’t have either.
We don’t need a special day to be thankful, but it sure does help. So when you catch yourself bitching this holiday season – remember what this quote so clearly says – which is basically, count your blessings, quit your bitching, and find gratitude, mmkay?
Here’s the part where you tell us what you’re thankful for in the comments below. What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?
